Twelve Days Until Take-Off!

Twelve days until we embark on a new school year.  I am excited and terrified and everything in between. The past 18 years of schooling have led up to this: me standing in front of a classroom full of sixth graders. Every year as I helped prepare my mom's classroom for the new batch of first graders, I dreamt up my future classroom and let me tell you, it is everything I envisioned and more. I'm in love - does that make me crazy?

I am really excited to see how this Interactive Notebook Companion Glossary turn out at the end of the school year. The plan is to add to the wall as we go and have the wall correspond to the notebooks we create. Ideally, the wall will end up being interactive too!

The room is 90% done. I am still waiting on a bookshelf to complete my desk area (thank you Papa!).

And, I need to finish labeling the paper storage boxes (one for each period).

The chair for the table needs painting and we are putting a second coat of chalkboard on the table top.

Now that the easy part is done - well almost - I guess I have to figure out what I am actually going to teach! eek!
